Conventions Throughout this User Guide, there are some terms that are used interchangeably: ‰ Document is synonymous with original. ‰ Button is synonymous with key. ‰ Page is synonymous with sheet. ‰ WorkCentre Pro 421 is synonymous with the machine. Feed Orientation Feed Orientation describes the direction the originals and the media is fed through the machine. It is recommended the feed orientation of the originals matches that of the media. System Overview The WorkCentre Pro 421 is a digital device capable of copying and printing. When you switch on the power and the system has warmed up, the machine is in the Ready mode and is ready to use. Ready mode is where the LCD screen is visible and ready to be programmed for a job.
