Preparing to Take Pictures Before you can start taking pictures, you need to install the batteries or connect a KODAK AC Adapter (Cat# 122-0557) for power. Setting the Flash Use the flash when taking pictures at night, indoors, or outdoors in heavy shadows. Your camera has three different flash options and a range of 8 ft (2.4 m), to accommodate most picture-taking situations.
