Chapter 1 Introduction 1.1 Overview ASMi-52 is an SHDSL modem that operates in full-duplex over 2/4-wire lines and offers a cost-effective solution for delivering digital data to customer premises over existing copper cables. ASMi-52 handles multiple data rates in the range of 64–4608 kbps. The unit is available with a single data port or as a multiplexer with two data ports.
