Positioning The Main Unit And Speakers The main unit and the speakers are designed to be used on a shelf, desk, table or stand. The main unit is shipped with two plastic legs installed for added stability when the system is used on a flat surface. These two plastic legs allow the main unit to “lean backward” slightly and prevent it from tipping forward when the CD door is opened. IMPORTANT: THESE TWO PLASTIC LEGS MUST REMAIN ON THE MAIN UNIT FOR TABLE-TOP, DESK-TOP, OR SHELF OPERATION. Note: If

Speaker Connections Connect the speakers to the Red (+) and Black (–) terminals on right side panel of the unit as shown below. Press the Red (+) or Black (–) terminal tab, insert wire, release tab to hold wire in place. The speakers may be placed close to the main unit or as far apart as the cables will allow. Please leave a gap of at least 1/4” between the main unit and speakers to prevent any vibration in the speakers from causing the CD player to skip. Note: The speakers are not magnetically

Connecting To External Audio Sources This system is equipped with Auxiliary Input (AUX IN) and Line Output (LINE OUT) jacks. The Auxiliary Input Jacks allow you to listen to the sound from an external audio source through the speakers of this system. The Line Output jacks allow you to record from the Tuner or CD Player in this system to an external recording device. • Connect your playback* equipment (eg. Installing The Remote Control Batteries The remote controller requires 2 “AAA” batteries (not included). Please use a well- known brand of alkaline batteries for longest life and best performance. MUTE Button (On Remote Control Only) Press the MUTE button on the remotrol control to shut off the speakers temporarily, for example, to answer the telephone. The sound stops and the “MUTE” indicator appears in the display. Press the MUTE button again to cancel the mute function and restore the sound. The “MUTE” indicator disappears. Hints For Better Reception FM: The FM lead wire antenna on the back panel should be extended to its full length. You may also have to vary the direction of this antenna until you find the position that provides the best reception. AM: The AM bar antenna is inside the cabinet of the main unit. Pre-setting Stations In The Tuner Memory This system includes a 20 station preset memory. You can store up to 10 FM stations and 10 AM stations in the tuner memory for immediate recall. The procedure for storing stations in memory is as follows: 1.) Follow step 3 under “Listening To The Radio” in page 17 to select the first station you wish to memorize. Example: FM 103.5 MHz. 2.)
