Introduction Features of the CRW8824IX Drive Easy setup Implementation of an IEEE1394 interface (also known as FireWire or i.LINK) eliminates the need for drive configurations (device ID, termination, and so on). You can connect and start using the drive whenever you wish without restarting your computer. High speed CD-R/RW discs can be written/rewritten at up to 8X speed. Before Use Supported Discs The CRW8824IX can write to discs that carry the following logos. *1 CD-R discs The CRW8824IX can write to these discs at 8X, 6X, 4X, and 1X speeds. Setup Procedures Connections Before connecting the CRW8824IX drive and the computer as described below, make sure that you have installed appropriate CD writing software (P. 3, 4). If you newly install the CD writing software, first disconnect all IEEE1394 devices from your computer. After properly installing the software, you are ready to connect the devices.
