To meet GSM specification, pressing the PTC button with no SIM installed will cause the unit to initiate a “411” call. The unit will charge from a laptop computer, AC to USB power adapter, or vehicle power to USB adapter. (See Figure 3) Data communications with the Mini-MT is also performed through the USB connector. Mini-MT User Guide Revision 1.02 4.3.3 Speaker An integrated speaker allows the user to make a phone call to the pre-configured dispatch number when in hands-free mode. The user can adjust the volume to a comfortable level using the volume up (‘+’) or down (‘-’) buttons. WARNING The Mini-MT is intended for use in speaker mode or headset mode only. The battery should be removed to gain access to the SIM card and for turning the unit off (shipping or travel).
