Hardware Installation and PC Setup 2 Overview This chapter provides basic instructions for connecting the router to a computer or a LAN and to the Internet using DSL. The first part provides instructions to set up the hardware, and the second part describes how to prepare your PC for use with the router. Hardware Installation and PC Setup Configuring Your Computer Before you can access the router over the LAN you have to configure your PC's TCP/IP address to be 192.168.1.x (where x is any number between 3 and 254), with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0.
