However, each Caller ID system (and each device, such as a telephone or answering machine) that you connect to the tele- phone line draws power from the line. We refer to this power draw as the system’s ringer equiva- lence number or REN. The REN is on the label on the bottom of the system. If you use more than one

For the longest operation and best performance, we recommend alkaline bat- teries, such as RadioShack Cat. No. 23-558.
