CHAPTER 1 Getting to Know Your NSA 1.1 Overview This chapter covers the main features and applications of the NSA. Chapter 1 Getting to Know Your NSA Above is the NSA in a home network. Users back up and share data on the NSA. The DMA-2501 plays the NSA’s media files on the TV. A USB hard drive provides extra storage space and files are copied directly from the USB mass storage device to the NSA. Place the NSA behind a firewall and/or IDP (Intrusion Detection and Prevention) device to protect it from attacks from the Internet. Chapter 1 Getting to Know Your NSA Note: You should keep the NSA in a secure location in order to prevent unauthorized reset of the device. You may need to close and re-open the NAS Starter Utility to discover the NSA. This is because the NSA automatically re-acquires IP address information, so its IP address may change. If no IP address information is assigned, the NSA uses Auto-IP to assign itself an IP address and subnet mask. For example, you could connect the NSA directly to your comput
