 PRIMUS 660 Digital Weather Radar System 1. Introduction  The PRIMUS 660 Digital Weather Radar System is a lightweight, X–band digital radar with alphanumerics designed for weather detection (WX) and ground mapping (GMAP). The primary purpose of the system is to detect storms along the flightpath and give the pilot a visual indication in color of their rainfall intensity.  PRIMUS 660 Digital Weather Radar System The radar indicator is equipped with the universal digital interface (UDI). This feature expands the use of the radar indicator to display information such as checklists, short and long range navigation displays (when used with a Honeywell DATA NAV system) and electrical discharge data from Honeywell’s LSZ–850 Lightning Sensor System (LSS).  PRIMUS 660 Digital Weather Radar System NOTES: 1. When WAIT, SECTOR SCAN, or FORCED STANDBY are activated, the radar operates as if in single controller configuration. This is an exception to the ability of each pilot to independently select modes. 2. In the dual configuration, the pilots can use the slave feature to optimize the update rate of each side’s weather radar display to meet the needs of the situation. With one controller turned off, both cockpit displays are updated on every sweep
