4 USB WIA Driver Canon Digital Camera USB WIA Driver (For Windows Me) As the driver software for the USB interface, it can automatically start Windows’ Scanners and Cameras Wizard and download images to the computer. It can also display the images in the camera as thumbnails in Windows Explorer, allowing them to be effortlessly downloaded just by copying them to a folder. 7 Installing/Uninstalling the Software Installing from the Canon Digital Camera Solution Disk If you are installing the software onto Windows NT 4.0 or Windows 2000, you must first log on as the administrator and then install the software. 8 Installing from the ArcSoft Camera Suite CD-ROM To install ArcSoft PhotoImpression or VideoImpression, place the ArcSoft Camera Suite CD-ROM into the drive and double-click the [My Computer] icon on the desktop followed by the [ArcSoft] folder and [Setup.exe] icon. 9 Installing the USB Driver (Preinstalled Windows 98/Me/2000 Systems Only) Notes Regarding Installation • Ensure that you install the contents of the Canon Digital Camera Solution Disk before you attach the camera to the computer’s USB port. This will allow the automatic selection of the correct USB driver. • The USB driver only needs to be installed the first time the camera is connected via the USB interface. Installation is not required from the second time onward. • Do not cancel the install

10 Windows Me or Windows 2000 Users If the “Digital Signature Not Found” message displays partway through installation, follow the procedures below. 1. Click the [Yes] button if the “Digital Signature Not Found” message displays. Your camera model name will appear here. 2. Click [No to All] if the “Confirm File Replace” dialog displays. • If a dialog prompts you to restart your computer, remove the CD-ROM from the drive and restart the computer as instructed. 12 How to Have ZoomBrowser EX Start Automatically • If you want ZoomBrowser EX to start automatically without first displaying the event dialog, use the procedures below to change the settings. 1. Open the [My Computer] window while the camera is connected to the computer via the USB interface. 2. Open the [Control Panel] and select [Scanners and Cameras] and your camera model. 3. 15 Loading and Saving Images from the Camera 1. Create a new folder in which to save the images from the camera. In the Tree View, right-click the [Image Library One] folder, select [New Folder] from the pop-up menu and input a folder name. Tree View 2. Select the new folder in the Tree View. 3.
