4 Battery Perform the following steps to remove the battery: 1. Make sure the power to the system is off. 2. Unplug the AC adapter and all power and signal cables from the system. 3. RTC Battery The RTC battery is encased within a special black sleeve and has a wire connector that connects to the main board. To remove the RTC battery, first remove the wireless LAN adapter (see Wireless LAN Adapter on page 7) and then perform the following steps: 1. 10 Hard Disk Drive To remove the hard disk drive(s), first remove the battery (see Battery on page 4) and then perform the following steps: 1. 12 DVD Drive To remove the DVD drive, first remove the battery (see Battery on page 4) and then perform the following steps: 1. Remove the rubber insert from the bottom of the notebook.
