MAKING CALLS VIA THE PHONE Close the cover and ensure the phone is switched on and in service. Enter the phone number, including the area code, then press . To end a call press . 2 The Nokia 9210 Communicator consists of two parts: the phone and the communicator interface. 7 Access codes The Nokia 9210 Communicator uses several access codes to protect against unauthorised use of your communicator and SIM card. The access codes you need most often are: the lock code (the predetermined default lock code is 12345), and the PIN code, which is provided with the SIM card. 8 GSM data transmission The Nokia 9210 Communicator employs the data transmission capabilities of the GSM network to send faxes, short messages, and e-mail, and to establish connections with remote computers. 9 Electrostatic discharge A discharge of static electricity from a finger or a conductor may cause erroneous functions in electric devices. The discharge may result in distorted display and unstable software operation. Wireless connections may become unreliable, data may become corrupted, and the transmission halted.
