Your filter elements must be precoated with this material in order to protect their surfaces and provide the most efficient filtering action. 11 Cleaning your Filter using a System with a Separation Tank, cont’d. b. Multiport Rotary Valve. After completing Steps 1 to 3 of this section; on page 10, perform the following steps: (1) Position the valve to the BACKWASH setting. (2) Open the High Flow™ manual air relief valve until it snaps into the full open position (this only requires a quarter turn counter-clockwise). Opening this valve rapidly releases air trapped in the filter. (3) Stand clear of the filter tank, then start the pump.
