First, charge the battery prior to use. Note that the battery of a newly purchased camera is not charged. Other Charging Precautions • Use the special charger (BC-130L) to charge the special lithium ion battery (NP- 130). Never use any other type of charger device. Enabling Power Saving (Eco Mode) Enabling power saving reduces the brightness of the monitor screen and switches other camera operations to low-power operation, which allows a charge to last longer and increase the number of images that can be shot between charges. The Eco Mode can be enabled only while Auto is selected as the recording mode (page 31). 1. Press [ECO].
