Installation The Answering System can be placed on the desktop in three different positions; upright, using the mounting pedestal, at an angle using the pedestal, or lying flat without the pedestal. Choose your preference and use the mounting hooks to attach the pedestal onto the answering system as shown below. Recording the Greeting Before using your new answering system, you should record a greeting (the announcement callers hear when your answering system answers a call). If you don’t record a greeting, callers hear a default greeting which says, “We are unavailable to take your call. Please leave a message.
