INSTALLING THE BACKUP BATTERY The TAD requires AC power to operate. If AC power fails, or you unplug the TAD, a 9-volt battery (not supplied) provides backup power so the TAD can maintain the correct time and memory information. For the best performance and longest life, we recommend a RadioShack alkaline battery. Caution: Use only a fresh battery of the required size and rec- ommended type. Cautions: You must use a Class 2 power source that sup- plies 9V AC and delivers at least 440 mA. Its plug ! AC 9V 440 mA must fit the TAD's jack. The sup- plied adapter meets these specifications. SETTING THE NUMBER OF RINGS 4/7/TS The ring select switch ( ) controls how long the TAD waits before it answers a call.
