Inserting the Batteries and Memory Card Insert the batteries. Insert the batteries with (+) and (-) ends oriented correctly. Insert the memory card. Setting the Date and Time The Date/Time settings screen will appear the first time the camera is turned on. Since the dates and times recorded into your images are based on these settings, be sure to set them. Turn on the camera. Press the power button. The Date/Time screen will appear. Setting the Display Language You can change the language that displays on the screen. Enter Playback mode. Press the 1 button. Display the settings screen. Press and hold the m button, then immediately press the n button. Set the display language. Press the opqr buttons to choose a language, then press the m button.
