Starting the engine if necessary This model is fitted with a semiautomatic decompression valve (1) to make starting easier. Press the rubber cover until you can feel it engage. This pushes in the deompression valve behind it. This in turn reduces the compression, so that it takes less force to pull the starter cord to accelerate the engine to its starting speed.
