PIN codes The personal identification number (PIN) code and the universal personal identification number (UPIN) code (4 to 8 digits) help to protect your SIM card against unauthorized use. 1. Get started ■ Install the SIM card and battery Always switch the device off and disconnect the charger before removing the battery. This device is intended for use with a BL-5C battery. Important: Do not remove the memory card in the middle of an operation when the card is being accessed. ■ Predictive text input Predictive text input is based on a built-in dictionary to which you can add new words. 1. Start writing a word using the keys 2 to 9. Press each key only once for one letter. The phone displays * or the letter if it separately has a meaning as a word. The entered letters are displayed underlined. 2. When you finish writing the word and it is correct, to confirm it, press 0 to add a space. If the word is not correct, press * repeatedly, and select the word from the list
