02 CONNECTING wITh OThER DEVICES RS485 CONNECTION It's possible to control an external device by the DVR using the RS485 interface for communication. The RS485 port can be used to control PTZ cameras, speed domes, keyboard controllers and other types of external devices. Connect the Rx+/Tx+ & Rx-/Tx- of the external device to the + & - of the RS485 port respectively. Check the polarity (+/-) when making the connection. Faulty wiring can damage both devices.
