Check with a qualified electrician if you are in doubt as to whether the outlet is properly grounded. Do not modify the power cord plug provided with the tool. EXTENSION CORDS 1. Grounded tools and equipment require a three wire extension cord. 2. As the distance from the supply outlet increases, you must use a heavier gauge extension cord. Using extension cords with inadequately sized wire causes a serious drop in voltage, resulting in loss of power and possible tool and equipment damage. (See Figure B.) 3. Charging Current Selector (1): The Charging Current Selector is used for selecting a charging current of either 0.25 AMPs, 0.50 AMPs, or 0.90 AMPs depending upon the 12 volt battery that is to be charged. Use a digital voltmeter (not included) to determine the voltage of the battery. Check the battery manufacturer’s recommended charging current.
