CP-102U/UL User’s Manual Hardware Installation Plugging the Board into an Expansion Slot Since the CP-102U/UL board’s IRQ number and I/O address are automatically assigned by the PCI BIOS, the board MUST be plugged into one of the computer’s expansion slots before installing the driver. 3 3 Chapter 3 Software Installation In this chapter, installation, configuration, and update/removal procedures for the driver are given for Windows (2003/XP, 2000, 98/95, NT), DOS, Linux, and SCO. CP-102U/UL User’s Manual Software Installation Windows 2003/XP In this section, we describe the installation procedure for Windows XP. The installation procedure for Windows 2003 is similar. Windows 2003/XP support up to 256 serial ports, from COM1 to COM256. In order to utilize fully Windows 2003/XP’s multi-process/multi-thread advanced features, pure 32-bit Windows 2003/XP device drivers were developed for MOXA multiport boards.
