Keep the sun behind you or at your side, not directly overhead or in front of you. If the light is behind your subject, use the FLASH ON setting to increase the light on the front of your subject. When the ambient light is low, use the flash. Make sure you keep the subject within the flash range (2.5 m, or about 8 feet).
