Although cable used for cable TV installations looks similar to this cable, it won’t work with your Listen system. The active side directs the signal toward the receivers, so it is essential that the active side be oriented toward the area where the receivers will be used. Attach the kit’s Mounting Plate to the electri- cal box (see photo, right). The cover plate has a number of holes and slots to accomodate a wide variety of electrical boxes. IMPORTANT: Do not install the antenna inside a metal wall or ceiling, as this would obstruct the signal. You will use a flexible dipole (the floppy wires) in this configuration. A mast made of non-conductive material works best; however, if you must use a metal mast, be sure to orient the antenna mount so the mast is not between the antenna and the designated receiving area.
