II. SAFETY PRE-RIDE SAFETY CHECK Get to know the feel of your scooter and its capabilities. Pride recommends that you perform a safety check before each use to make sure your scooter operates smoothly and safely. Perform the following inspections prior to using your scooter: ! II. SAFETY When climbing an incline, try to keep your scooter moving. If you must stop, start up again slowly, and then accelerate cautiously. When driving down an incline, do so by setting the speed adjustment dial to the slowest setting and driving in the forward direction only. YOUR SCOOTER TILLER CONSOLE The tiller console houses all of the controls needed to drive your scooter, including the speed adjustment dial, key switch, status LED, throttle control lever, battery condition meter, running lights switch, and horn buttons. III. YOUR SCOOTER Horn Buttons These buttons activate a warning horn. Your scooter must be turned on for the horn to be operational. Do not hesitate to use the warning horn when doing so may prevent accident or injury. Status LED The status LED will alert you to electrical problems that may occur with the scooter.
