Carbon monoxide (CO) is an insidious poison. It is a colorless, odorless, tasteless gas. It is
a cumulative poison. Even low levels of CO have been shown to cause brain and other vital

NORMAL OPERATION In normal operation, the alarm will blink the green LED off once approximately every 20 seconds. The display will indicate the current CO readings (if higher than 30ppm) or three dashes (Model CD-9690). SERVICE/TROUBLE CONDITION Periodically, the alarm's measurement circuit is tested. MAINTENANCE BATTERY REPLACEMENT The CO alarm is powered (backup) by a 9V battery. A fresh battery should last for one year under normal operating conditions.
