If necessary, place the handset in the telephone base or charger to charge the battery. For best performance, keep the handset in the telephone base or charger when not in use. If you want to mount your telephone on a wall, use the provided wall mount bracket to connect with a standard dual-stud telephone wall mounting plate. If you do not have this mounting plate, you can purchase one from many hardware or consumer electronic retailers. You might need a professional to install the mounting plate. Push the telephone base up to detach it from the wall mount bracket. Unplug the telephone line cord (or DSL filter) from the wall. Unplug the power adapter from the power outlet. 3. Before using the answering system, set the date and time as follows. If you subscribe to caller ID service, the day, month and time are set automatically with each incoming call.
