User’s Manual 2.7 RS-485 Connector RS-485 is the interface that the PTZ camera uses to communicate with its control unit. Connect the control keyboard to the camera via the terminal block. The recommended cables for RS-485 communication are CAT 5 cables; the maximum cable length for wire with a gauge above 24 is 4000 feet (1219 meters).
