Chapter 2 – Installation Safety General Safety The modem is designed for and intended to be used in fixed and mobile applications. “Fixed” means that the device is physically secured at one location and is not able to be easily moved to another location. “Mobile” means that the device is designed to be used in other than fixed locations. Chapter 3 – Using Your Wireless Modem Step 3 – Connect the Antenna and USB Cable • Antenna. Connect a suitable antenna to the SMA connector (See antenna specifications in Chapter 1). • USB Cable. Connect one end of the USB cable to the modem and the other end to the PC. Step 4 – Handset Connection (Optional) If you intend to use a phone handset, connect it to the MultiModem now. Obtain mounting screws (two are needed) that are appropriate for the surface on which you will mount the MultiModem. Wait while Windows prepares the next phase of the installation (associating the PC port with the USB drive). When the Welcome to the Found New Hardware Wizard screen appears, click Next. 2.
