CONNECT WATER PIPING Be careful not to apply any heat to the water heater nipples. Install dielectric unions and shut off valves on both hot and cold water lines. 40 BCS models are equipped with a brass inlet bushing in- stalled in the tank. Failure to properly seal the inlet venting subjects the burner to possible reverse drafts after burner shutdown—a hazardous condition with the possibility of creating a fire.
