1 Getting Started 1 Congratulations on purchasing your new iMac. This chapter contains instructions for setting up your computer. Your iMac has been designed so that you can set it up quickly and start using it right away. If you have never used an iMac or are new to Macintosh computers, read this section for instructions on getting started. Putting Your iMac to Sleep or Shutting It Down When you have finished working with your iMac, you can put your computer to sleep or shut it down. Put Your iMac to Sleep If you will be away from your iMac for less than a few days, put it to sleep. When your iMac is in sleep, its screen is dark and a small white light below the lower-right corner of the display pulses. You can quickly wake your iMac and bypass the startup process.
