If you attach two battery packs, charging begins from the battery you first attach to the adapter, or, if the batteries are already attached to the adapter when you plug it into an AC outlet, from the side labeled “A”. • When powering your camcorder from an AC outlet, you do not need to remove battery packs attached to the adapter, but charging will not take place until you remove the DC coupler from

Mastering the Basics Protecting tapes from accidental erasure E REC SAVE REC SAVE To protect your recording from accidental erasure, slide the tab on the cassette so that it exposes the hole. (This switch position is usually labeled SAVE or ERASE OFF.) If you load this cassette and put the camera in record pause mode ( 16), “THE TAPE IS SET FOR ERASURE PREVENTION” is displayed for approx. 4 seconds and then the v mark flashes in the display. Changing the recording mode E Choose from 4 recording modes: SP (standard play), 1.5× SP, 2× SP or 3× SP. • Only SP and LP modes are available when the camcorder is set to CARD PLAY mode. Confirmation/Warning beeps E The camera’s short operation confirmation beeps are indicated by ` in the illustrations. Beeps sound upon certain camera operations such as when you turn the camera on, during the self-timer countdown, right before the camera’s automatic shut-off, and also upon any unusual condition of the camera.
