English TCR1000 Overview Controls and Indicators The numbers below refer to the illustration on the inside front cover. Number Description Radio Unit CE Connector 1 Connects Remote Control Unit and audio accessories. Used for battery charging, terminal programming, and keyloading. Antenna Connector 2 On-Off Key 3 Power on or off the terminal. Encryption Keys Button 4 Used for loading and deleting encryption keys. LED Indicator 5 Shows operations states of the terminal. Terminal Buttons Overview On-Off Key Press and hold the key to power on/off the terminal. Encryption Keys Button Encryption Keys button has 2 functions: � Press for less than 5 seconds to enter the Programming Mode. � Press and hold for 5 seconds or more to erase encryption keys. Remote Control Unit Buttons Overview PTT Button Press and hold the button to talk in half-duplex calls or to initiate a group call, release it to listen. Talkgroup Rotary Switch Turn the switch to select Talkgroups. TM

Getting Started Battery Installing the Battery 1. Remove the battery from its protective clear plastic case. 2. Align the battery and place its top under the top hook. 3. Press the battery bottom until it clicks. The battery is locked. 1 2 4. Hook the battery cover bottom tangs into the mounting holes. 5. Slide the fixing clip and hold in the position. 6. To charge the battery using the Travel Charger WALN4092: 1. Insert the connector on the charger into the CE connector at the top of the terminal. 2. Select the required plug adapter (UK or European type) and connect to the charger. Then plug the charger into a suitable outlet. When charging a new battery, charge it (whichever type) overnight (14 - 16 hours), irrespective of the LED indications. English Attaching the Antenna Turn the TCR1000 off before installing or removing the antenna. To attach the antenna: 1. Insert the bottom of the antenna into the screw-in base on the top of the terminal. 2. Turn clockwise until snug. Do not force. Powering On/Off (On-Off Key) To power on, press and hold On-Off key untill the LED turns red. Your TCR1000 performs a self-check and registration routine.
