Determining the Remaining Tape Running Time (REMAIN) 1 The Real Time Counter can also be used to show the amount of time remaining on a cassette as it is being recorded or played back. 1. Making Good Sounding Recordings Dolby Noise Reduction Systems Dolby B NR is the system used in most cassette tape decks to reduce the background noise that is inherent in all cassette tapes.
