Installation 2 Inspecting the Unit When you receive your power supply, inspect it for any obvious damage that may have occurred during shipment. If there is damage, notify the shipping carrier and nearest Agilent Sales and Service Office immediately. Refer to Appendix C for more information. 2 Installation Rack Installation Ensure that the screws used to attach the rack slide kit do not penetrate more CAUTION than 6 mm into the sides of the unit. Do not block the air intake at the front, or the exhaust at the rear of the unit. The Agilent N5700 power supplies can be mounted in a standard 19- inch rack panel or cabinet. Installation 2 Connecting the Line Cord SHOCK HAZARD The power cord provides a chassis ground through a third WARNING conductor. Be certain that your power outlet is of the three-conductor type with the correct pin connected to earth ground. FIRE HAZARD Use only the power cord that was supplied with your instrument. 2 Installation • Unscrew the base of the strain relief from the wire compression nut. Place the locknut inside the AC input cover with the flat side of the nut against the cover.
