3. Your tool must be plugged into an appropriate outlet, properly installed and grounded in accordance with all codes and ordinances. The plug and outlet should look like those in the following illustration. (See Figure A.) EXTENSION CORDS 1. Grounded tools require a three wire extension cord. Double Insulated tools can use either a two or three wire extension cord. 2. As the distance from the supply outlet increases, you must use a heavier gauge extension cord. Using extension cords with inadequately sized wire causes a serious drop in voltage, resulting in loss of power and possible tool damage. (See Figure C, next page.) 3. SYMBOLOGY SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES 1. Maintain a safe working environment. Keep the work area well lit. Make sure there is adequate surrounding workspace. Always keep the work area free of obstructions, grease, oil, trash, and other debris. Do not use this product in areas near flammable chemicals, gasoline, dusts and vapors. 2. Maintain labels and nameplates on the Air Compressor. These carry important information. If unreadable or missing, contact Harbor Freight Tools for a replacement. 3.

8. When filling the Air Compressor with oil, make sure to unscrew (do not pull) the Oil Plug (31) out. 9. Do not allow moisture to build up inside the Air Tank (1). Drain water from the tank daily.
