This heater requires an external regulator (not supplied). Install the external regulator between the heater and propane supply. The installer must supply an external regulator. The external regulator will reduce incoming gas pressure. You must reduce incoming gas pressure to between 11 and 14 inches

Check pilot flame pattern and burner flame pattern often. INSPECTING PILOT FLAME PATTERN BURNER Figure 19 shows a correct pilot flame pattern. Figure 20 shows an incorrect pilot flame pattern. The incorrect pilot flame is not touching the thermocouple. This will cause the thermocouple to cool. When the thermocouple cools, the heater will shut down.
