Hardware Setup Step 1: Identify the Setup Hardware To set up the notebook for the first time, you need the notebook, the AC adapter 1, the power cord 2, and the battery pack 3. Slide the battery pack 1 into the battery bay until it is seated. 3. Press the battery pack 2 into the battery bay until it clicks into place.
