1 Introduction Installation Overview This guide describes the procedures for installing new hardware and software in your LH 4/LH 4r NetServer. The hardware update takes 10 or 15 minutes. The firmware update can take up to an hour, not including time taken by backing up and restoring your hard disk drives, or by reinstalling the NOS or applications. Chapter 1 Introduction Upgrading the Rack (LH 3r) Configuration You can upgrade the LH 3r rack configuration without removing it from the rack, but you may find it easier to reinstall the CPU baseboard and install the chassis reinforcement bars when the LH 3r is removed from the rack and sitting on a workbench.
