Caution: Do not use the suction-cup mount in a vehicle that has a plastic coating on the windshield designed to protect passengers during an accident. Most vehicles have this type of system. The detector sounds a distinctive tone for each band as a self test (laser, Ka, K, X, and road hazard, in order). This eliminates responses to most false sources, such as automatic door openers and alarm systems.
