Daily Operation Using the Magnetic Card Reader The optional Magnetic Card Reader (MCR) may be used by some applications to read information from credit cards, drivers licenses, etc. When the host system sends a request to the printer to enable the Magnetic Card Reader, the MCR Indicator will light to indicate that the card may now be passed through the MCR slot, or “swiped”.
