BASIC HOOKUP METHODS Use one of these methods to connect a signal to your TV. CLOSED-CAPTIONING Captioning is textual information transmitted along with the picture and sound so it can be displayed on the TV screen. Because different types of captions can be transmitted with the QuickTips TV signal, separate captioning modes are provided. PICTURE-IN-PICTURE (PIP) OPERATION For PIP to function you must connect two signals to the TV. (Use the TV’s 75 ohm input and A/V inputs.) Connect VCR (or other accessory equipped with a video output jack) to the TV’s audio video jacks as shown on page 12. USING THE QUIKFREEZE KEY Press the QUIKFREEZE key to instantly stop an image for a longer view. A still image will be shown (displayed) in the small PIP window. Use the QuikFreeze to hold an advertised phone number or address on the screen until the viewer collects the information. Pressing any key will turn QuikFreeze feature OFF.
