First Steps Charging the Battery Cautions: Caring for the Battery • Do not affi x stickers or other objects to the battery. Failure to observe this precaution could make it impossible to remove the battery from the camera. • Do not short the battery terminals. The battery could overheat. • Use only NP-45 batteries. Inserting the Battery After charging the battery, insert it in the camera as described below. Open the battery-chamber cover. First Steps Inserting the Battery Caution Insert the battery in the correct orientation. Do NOT use force or attempt to insert the battery upside down or backwards. The battery will slide in easily in the correct orientation. Inserting a Memory Card Although the camera can store pictures in internal memory, SD memory cards (sold separately) can be used to store additional pictures.
