GETTING READY TO TAKE PICTURES 9 GETTING READY TO TAKE PICTURES Complete the following installation and setup steps to prepare your camera for taking pictures. INSTALL THE BATTERIES AND MEMORY CARD Note: If you prefer to store your photos on the camera’s internal memory, you do not need to install a memory card. To install the batteries: 1. Open the battery/memory card cover. ■ Press on the cover and slide it in the direction of the arrow, toward the outside edge of the camera. ■ Lift the c

Close the battery/memory card cover. ■ If you have difficulty closing the cover, ensure that the memory card is installed correctly. Note: After initial setup of your camera, turn the camera off prior to opening the battery/memory card cover.

GETTING READY TO TAKE PICTURES 11 SET THE DATE AND TIME When you transfer a photo to a computer or print a photo, the time and date the photo was taken are shown. To set the display style: 1. Rotate the Mode dial to Set Up. SET UP 2. Press the On/Off button, located on the back of the camera, to turn the camera on. 3. Use the Down button , located on the back of the camera, to select Date/Time, and then press the Display button.

Use the Down button to select Clock, and then press the Display button.

SET THE LANGUAGE Your camera can display text and messages in English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, and Japanese.
