Installing the Hard Drive Installing the Hard Drive The Hard Drive serves the same purpose in a DVR as a video cassette does in a VCR. Please follow the steps carefully in order to ensure proper installation. The compartment located on the front panel of the DVR is the removable Cartridge Casing in which you insert the Hard Drive.
