At idle speed, the clutch is disengaged. Do not run the engine without mounting it on equipment that includes the centrifugal clutch drum and housing, or centrifugal force will cause the clutch shoes to contact and damage the engine case. 11

Check the air filter (see page29 ). A dirty air filter will restrict air flow to the carburetor, reducing engine performance. Check that all nuts, bolts, and screws are tightened.
