Setting up the SporTrak is a simple three-step process: installing the batteries, selecting the language to be used and initializing the SporTrak. The Magellan SporTrak uses two AA batteries that are installed from the back through the battery cover. You can expect to get up to 15 hours of usage on two AA batteries with the backlight turned off. The first time you use your SporTrak (or if memory has been completely erased) you will be asked to select the language that you want to use. Use the UP/DOWN arrows on the keypad to highlight the language you desire. With the language highlighted, press the ENTER button.
