Mastering the Basics Protecting Tapes from Accidental Erasure E REC SAVE REC SAVE To protect your recording from accidental erasure, slide the tab on the cassette so that it exposes the hole. (This switch position is usually labelled SAVE or ERASE OFF.) It is not possible to dub audio or insert images to a tape that has been recorded in LP mode.
