Chapter 3: Preparing the Cabinet for Installation Cables are usually run into the side cable apertures of a cabinet and straight onto cable trays fitted to the cabinet frame (see Figure 3-5). With the interconnecting server and equipment, cables are dressed to the side and rear. Most equipment fans expel hot waste air to the rear of the cabinet..
